PTA Membership Reasons To Join ·
By joining PTA, you automatically become
part of the largest child advocacy organization in the state - over 770,000
strong across Texas! ·
Joining PTA is the best way to get
informed and involved in your child’s school. It gives you a voice and a vote to all
PTA activities throughout the year.
Studies have proven that membership in PTA provides your child with a
greater chance of achieving in school. ·
It’s a wonderful way to meet new
friends, other parents, and to get to know the teachers. This will introduce you to others that
share common concerns and you will feel more empowered to do the tough job of
parenting. ·
You will join in promoting welfare for
our children in the home, school, community and place of worship. More than ever, it is important for parents
to learn ways to keep children safe, trouble free and involved in
school. PTA is the best place to
gain that knowledge. ·
You will receive an Anderson Student
Directory that will keep you and your children connected to others throughout
the year. ·
It’s only $5.00 to $7.50 per member! $2.25 goes to National PTA, $2.25 to TX state PTA, and $2.25 stays with our Local PTA program.
·
The PTA makes Anderson Elementary a

Thinking of Dad's Club or Watch Dog?
The Anderson Elementary Dads Club contributes to the school in the following ways: 1) Volunteers to the school to help the faculty as “muscles” and “brains” are needed – moving furniture, setup / tear down for events, etc. Emails are sent out as requests for help come in. 2) Cooking. There are 2 primary events we get involved with doing cooking – the Chili Fest (Dads cook for each class and also judge) and the end of the year Field Day (we set up a big grilling area and cook for the kids and teachers). 3) Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students). Information on the Watch DOGS program can be found at www.fathers.com. The program is coordinated thru the Dad’s Club and the school’s counselor, Karen McWilliams. The goal is to have one “DOG” during each school day (except on days where the school has no volunteers for testing, etc). The daily “DOG” goes to classes, greets kids in the morning, patrols the campus, tutors as the teachers need, etc. We’ve got signup sheets for dads to sign up for a specific day outside the cafeteria. 4) Get involved in the school lives of our children.
To participant, get a background check done at the Allen ISD website. Contact Tom Gressick at thjig4@sbcglobal.net if you have any questions and to put your name on the distribution list.
